Welcome to Lodging at Ragamont House—

Ragamont House offers elegant, comfortable accommodations and is located in one of the most picturesque villages of Connecticut’s famous Northwest Corner. Dating from the mid-1800s, the stately Greek revival Ragamont House on Main Street in Salisbury has been providing hospitality in New England for more than 120 years. This Historic Landmark mansion underwent an award-winning renovation that was featured in “American Splendor,” the September 2006 issue of House & Garden, and now offers wonderful, spacious, accommodations that include cathedral ceilings, canopied beds, fireplaces and cozy sitting areas, all combined with the most up-to-date conveniences of the 21st century.

Use of the main rooms of the house is encouraged so as to make the very most of each moment spent in this historic mansion. Guests at Ragamont House truly feel at home. Feel free to enjoy lounging in the elegant living room or relaxing, reading or watching a movie/television in the library before or after dinner. If you prefer, spend quiet time on the large porch overlooking the expansive, colorful private garden, or just wander about the charming village of Salisbury that’s just out the front door.

Additionally, under the direction of internationally trained Executive Chef Bruce M. Young, we offer Ragamont House as a venue for private special events. Using in-house staffing, and with very little notice, we can easily accommodate seated dinners and luncheons both formal and informal, large and small, as well as  events such as cocktail parties, lectures, recitals, rehearsal dinners and weddings in the garden. We have a cadre of additional highly trained wait staff, so anything is possible!

Lodging at Ragamont House offers three uniquely furnished accommodations, each with a small, private corridor ensuring quiet and located in a separate wing of the house off the main stair hallway. All rooms include full housekeeping. Please feel free to contact us with any inquiries you may have.
